Day 11, 5th November
Carrying garbage back from Namche – Supporting Sagarmatha next project.
Garbage that has to be carry back to Lukla from Namche where out team carry as much as possible
On our way out of Namche, we stopped to pick up a LOT of white bags in the “Carry me back” project. It was a busy day on the road, and we met goats, mules, Yaks and porters as well as hikers on their way up. Just like on the way up, we passed numerous high hanging bridges and nice little villages. It was a rather cloudy and windy day and many of us are coughing and feeling a bit worn out. The best news of the day – our senior water manager, Nima got news from home that his second daughter was born yesterday in his home village! When we arrive in Lukla, he has three days to walk home to meet his new family member. In about a week, the monks will perform a ceremony and decide on the name of the newborn.
Instead of going all the way to Lukla we stopped for the night in Phakding, at an almost finished lodge.
