Resting at Monjo
With a beautiful Sunrise and clear skies, the team , set of from Phakding to Naamche Bazaar, duly warned about the long climb from 2610 mtrs to Naamche at 3450mtrs. However, the team once again reunited were in high spirits and made good time to Monjo, the location of the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park where they took their first break and many pictures. After lunch, the team retook the trail which wound its way down to the banks of the Dudh Kosi River, before the climb upto Larza Bridge where the team crossed over one of the highest bridges along the route. After crossing over the team slowly and steadily made their way upto the long hard climb to Namche Bazaar, making it in excellent time. Though tired, every one had a good day. After doing a team brief in the evening and a pulse check on the health of each team member, we called it a night. However, a few brave members, with extra energy, went back out to explore the night life of Thamel. Not surprisingly, they were back by 9pm . After a nice long day, and sore muscles, the entire team had a good night’s sleep .
