Sunday the 8th of April. “Fly out of Lukla” is not as simple as just take flight. One must have favorable conditions and good visibility.

Lukla may be “The World’s Most Dangerous Airport”, but it is trended by pilots who do this, several times a day, every day! They do not have complex instruments for landing, they must have clear visibility. Neither the pilots nor Mega Adventures International can make the clouds go away. Just as we are about to select the plan to upgrade to a helicopter return to Kathmandu, the clouds cleared and planes started landing. Our flight was secured by our MAI team and we got to the hotel Mulberry in time for tea! The team elected to return to the good ole “Fire and Ice” for beer and pizza.
